Garneau Landscape
Frequently Asked Questions

What services does Garneau Landscape provide?
Garneau Landscape delivers property maintenance and landscaping services, including routine lawn care, seasonal cleanups, and exterior property upkeep for residential and commercial clients.
What happens during bad weather?
Garneau Systems makes every reasonable effort to honour all scheduled service appointments. However, due to the outdoor and on-call nature of our work, weather conditions may require services to be delayed or cancelled for safety and quality reasons.
In most cases, if a service day is lost due to weather, all affected services are pushed forward by one business day. If a second consecutive service day is also lost due to weather, the affected service for that week may be cancelled and resumed on the next regularly scheduled service date.
There are no refunds or credits due to weather-related delays, rescheduling, or cancellations, as these conditions are outside of our control. This approach allows us to maintain fair scheduling and consistent service delivery across all clients.
Do you guarantee specific service times?
No. While service days are scheduled, exact arrival times are not guaranteed due to routing, weather, and operational factors.
Why are quotes not free?
A deposit is required to secure your appointment and covers the technician's travel time and effort, ensuring that time is reserved for your property. It also helps prevent misuse of our booking system during busy periods. For recurring services, the deposit is credited toward your first invoice, and for one-time services, it is applied to the invoice if the quote is accepted. This ensures fair scheduling, protects our resources, and allows us to provide timely and professional service to all clients. In the event you do not wish to proceed with the quote the deposit is non refunable and goes towards fuel, labour and time spent on and off site creating the estimate.
What is the standard service level for routine snow removal?
Winter services ensure all sidewalks, driveways, pathways to the front door, stairs, porches, and front entryways are cleared of snow using shovels, blowers, and other equipment as needed, followed by de-icing with salt, sand, or a salt-sand mix. Salt is not included in the base cost and is billed separately unless the client has a salt barrel on site, in which case only the initial fill or refills are charged, with no fee for application. One visit per snow event is included with unlimited visits per season and no snow depth trigger
What is the standard for lawn maintenance with Garneau Landscape?
Garneau Landscape performs routine lawn maintenance to a consistent standard. Grass is typically cut to approximately 3 inches using a mulching method unless otherwise specified. Edges are trimmed, and all hard surfaces such as driveways, sidewalks, and patios are blown clear using an air blower. This ensures properties are maintained neatly, safely, and to the agreed service level.

Garneau Tool inspects all machines to assess their current condition. Even if a client suspects a specific problem, there may be underlying or related issues causing the initial problem. The diagnostic provides an accurate picture of the equipment's true status, allowing us to recommend appropriate service and parts. Since each unit is different and parts pricing varies, we cannot accurately provide a quote without inspecting the equipment. This process ensures clients receive the best experience, all issues are identified, and the need for return visits is minimized.
How long does a typical repair take?
Repair time varies depending on the complexity of the issue, availability of parts, if the service can be done onsite or if it needs to come back to our shop and condition of the equipment. We aim of a turn around time of 3 - 5 business days however season demand and volume including winter storms, start and end of lawn season there can be delays but we aim to complete every repair as fast as possible.

What is included in a tune-up?
Tune-ups typically include, but the final procedure depends on the model and manufacturer recommendations as per the equipment manual. Standard tune-up tasks generally include oil change, air filter inspection, belts inspection, checking all controls and functions, cables, augers, blades sharpening, lubrication where needed, spark plug inspection, and carburetor inspection. Consumables such as filters, blades, fuel lines, and spark plugs are billed separately as needed. Carburetor services are not included in the standard tune-up but are available at a reduced rate compared to a stand-alone carburetor service. Carburetor servicing typically involves ultrasonic cleaning and gasket replacement; full replacement is performed only when necessary. Garneau Tool always attempts cleaning and repair first before replacement.
